let's talk about fascination

so, growing up in the bay area, i would frequent san francisco often as a child....mostly with mom but sometimes with dad. I am not sure at what age i was when i stumbled across the "Play Fascination" game house on market street. But i became "fascinated" with it. I think i was attracted to the font.

On market street in san francisco, it could quite possibly be compared to a B grade zombie film.....lot's of monster faced crack adoring fans as well as old fashioned crazy people roaming the storefronts and alley's. Market street as a youth, always freaked me out...but i was always attracted to the darkness of it and all of the abandoned storefronts and buildings. Imagining all of the romantically dark things that would happen in these crevices.

I imagined that "Play Fascination" was a peep show with go go dancers in pastel colors. I imagined Madonna's "open your heart" video. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xd6vTJePVuY)

Alas, "Play Fascination" was one of the only non-sex-associated places on market street.
the truth is that:
"Fascination is a game commonly found in North American amusement parks, boardwalks and arcades. The game would be considered in the same family as skee ball, in that prizes are often won for playing the game. The game dates to the 1950s, perhaps earlier."
