Church at Black Betties....

The last church at black betties was last night.
When I first moved to New York in 05, Nano & andre gunn and I fell into black betties.
It was dark and smokey and the rev was singing,
"this little light of mine...
i'm gonna let it shine...."
We all danced and danced and sang.
Andre had a crush on the amaze sexy sax player at the time..
Nano & I could not leave when it ended, and the bar put on some james brown to end the night, and we continued to dance (people would ask us if we were professionals..we were damn good)
Church was a monday night ritual back then and I felt like it was the true new york I always dreamed it to be,
Full of soul...dark..smokey..
when I moved back I was overjoyed to know it was still going on.
I brought ken for the first time and we Lost it...
It is something unexplainable, you have to experience it
