pow wow wow

i wanted to have my own private pow wow birthday with a tee pee and peace pipes, but this month is to damn hectic. so we treated ourselves to a pow wow saturday at the franklin county fair grounds. It was lovely and hot. I bought some hot pink fox faces. Victoria bought a turtle purse.
In san francisco for thanksgiving, there is a very special pow wow on alcatraz island at sunrise. It is a truly unique experience, you are shipped in by ferry and the fog covers the bay with bone chilling vigor. when sun breaks, it is just stunning.
Alcatraz, before it became a notorious prison lock down was land inhabited by native americans, stolen... then given back. Sadly enough the land is quite useless, other than its tourist attractions. America has a very unique way of apologizing for past sins to native peoples, by gifting back much troubled land (mostly deserts). Hawaii is a perfect example.....
